B came to us with designs already in hand from Stuart Miller Designs in Queenscliff, wanting to extend the fresh look and feel of a recently renovated kitchen, pantry and dining area through the rest of the home. The brief was clear, add some space and bring the whole home up to the same standard for her and the two kids.

The extension went to the rear, adding a full master suite with walk in robe and ensuite. A second living area was added alongside it, and the existing bedrooms and bathroom were renovated throughout to match. New carpets, overlay flooring through to the entry and a whole house repaint tied everything together, giving the whole home a brand new feel from front to back.

There were a few challenges along the way. The existing carport ran close to the boundary and needed attention, but rather than a full rebuild we carried out careful rectification works to preserve it meaning she could retain what would otherwise not be allowed. We did enclose the front with a roller door, which added a level of privacy and security from the street that makes a real difference. One of the kids bedrooms sat alongside the carport with no window, so an openable skylight was added to bring natural light and ventilation down into the room. A simple fix that made a big difference.

B's selections throughout are beautiful. The feature tiling in both the bathroom and ensuite is a standout and the custom timber ensuite vanity is one of our favourites on this one.

A well-considered project that transformed this home, not only extending and adding to it but giving the existing home a fresh start to feel as one.
